Water
Venezuela is among the top 10 countries with the largest freshwater reserves on the planet.
Venezuela’s hydrology sustains the country mega-biodiversity and offers vast potential for its use in human consumption, agricultural production, forestry, hydroelectricity, industry and navigation.
Its seven main hydrographic basins cover the entire national territory and its aquifers represent a total surface area of more than 800,000 km2, with an estimated recharge volume of 8,000 million m3 per year.
Oil
1. Venezuela has the world’s largest proven oil reserves, having certified 303,805,745 million barrels.
In addition to oil, the country has 197.1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in proven reserves, a figure that places it eighth in the world.
Oil and natural gas reserves belong entirely to the Venezuelan state.
2. Venezuela is currently developing a scheme of strategic alliances in the oil industry, combined with the promotion of its technologies and capabilities, to recover and expand the levels of exploration, exploitation and refining of crude oil, processes that were affected by the imposition of illegal unilateral coercive measures against the country.
3. Venezuela promotes the use of hydrocarbons as a vehicle for South-South cooperation, and the integration of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean, through innovative financing mechanisms for development and access to energy.
Flowers
During the last decade, Venezuela has developed the capacity to produce tropical flowers, characterized by their beautiful and exotic shapes and colors.
Among the wonderful diversity of flowers in the country, the following stand out: the Anthurium (Anthurium andraeanum), the Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia reginae), the Emperor’s Staff (Etlingera elatior), the Heliconia (Heliconia) and the Avecilla (Heliconia psittacorum).
An additional advantage for the export of this type of flower is its resistance to the logistical rigors of the international marketing process.
Currently, tropical flowers from Venezuela can be found all over the world, especially in European and Russian markets.
