Throughout the six months that the exhibition lasted, from its inauguration on October 1, 2021 to March 31, the Venezuela Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai had the joy and privilege of receiving a total of 773.815 visitors from everyone.
Venezuela left its mark of light, color and friendship at Expo Dubai 2020, honoring its traditional role in universal exhibitions. So much so that the Venezuelan Pavilion was included among the 13 most beautiful at the Expo, according to the prestigious Gulf News.
Under the motto “An honorable heritage, a promising future. Venezuela open to the future”, the Venezuela Pavilion paid tribute to Venezuelan indigenous cultures and the legacy of the great Venezuelan masters of Kinetic Art.
Those who visited it had the opportunity to get closer to our country, to see with their own eyes a small sample of the extraordinary human, cultural and natural heritage of one of the 17 mega-diverse countries on the planet.
As the days passed, the interest of the public grew, forming long lines to enter the Venezuela Pavilion.
Thus, Venezuela welcomed an outstanding audience. From the illustrious visit of the Emir of Dubai, His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to the daily presence of families, school groups, inhabitants of the host country and travelers from the most distant places.
The visitors began the tour in a room that provided information on the most relevant demographic data, giving an account of the wonderful human and cultural diversity of the country, while connecting with Venezuela and its people, from a cordial gesture, a look , a smile, in the expression of different faces.
From there, the public could immerse themselves in the fascinating Venezuelan landscapes, in a space where they could learn about the natural characteristics of the country and verify the surprising biodiversity of Venezuela, which is part of the small group of megadiverse countries in the world, which has 70% of known animal and plant species, in its territory of about 1 million square kilometers.
Then, the attendees were invited to learn about the amazing treasures that the country houses in natural resources: its agricultural and livestock potential, its hydrographic and energy heritage, and its mineral wealth.
Next, the Plaza de la Diversidad became the favorite place for boys and girls to play, take selfies, and take a well-deserved rest.
In that space, the work “Chromatic Modules 2020-2021” was exhibited, a tribute to the Venezuelan jungle; whose culmination was in charge of the public, in a day in which visitors had the opportunity to live the experience of participatory art, under the artistic direction of the author of the work, the prestigious Master of kinetic art Juvenal Ravelo.
As a finishing touch, visitors were able to learn about the most significant aspects of the work of El Libertador Simón Bolívar. His glorious legacy will always be present, wherever Venezuela is.
The Venezuela Pavilion bids farewell to Expo 2020 Dubai, with the satisfaction of having built this space to share Venezuelan hospitality in the middle of the desert.
